Altar Servers
Boys and girls from 4th grade through high school are invited to become Altar Servers at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
Altar serving is a wonderful opportunity for young people to become more involved in the life of the Church, grow in their Catholic faith, and experience the Mass in a deeper and more meaningful way. Altar Servers have the special privilege of assisting the priest during Mass and other liturgical celebrations while helping our parish community worship with reverence and prayer.
Serving at the altar also helps young people develop responsibility, confidence, teamwork, leadership, and a greater appreciation for the beauty of the Mass. No previous experience is necessary. Training is provided so that every new server can learn their responsibilities and feel comfortable and confident at the altar.
Altar Servers are expected to attend scheduled training sessions and may be asked to participate in rehearsals for special celebrations throughout the liturgical year, including Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, and other important parish liturgies.
We encourage young parishioners who are interested in serving God and their parish community to consider joining this important ministry.
